Practical pacing plan

Use early flat seafront to establish sustainable effort, with refill time planned rather than surprise braking. Check effort at Promenade des Anglais. Refill before leaving the flatter shoreline for Antibes; avoid chasing an exact split while filling a flask. Cap effort across the largest late-middle rise; take planned fuel before it rather than trying to recover time uphill. Hold effort over Golfe-Juan undulations and increase only when the Croisette approach permits; maintain refills in sun or wind. Push only while effort and form remain controlled. Use Boulevard de la Croisette as the closing landmark. Adjust pace for wind, rain and temperature on race day; the monthly historical sample is not a race-morning forecast.

Historical weather pattern

November history for Nice, France gives a typical daily temperature range of 46 to 68.2 degrees Fahrenheit, daily maximum sustained winds of 4.1 to 11.5 mph, and at least 1 mm of rain on 34.7 percent of days. Historical conditions can change, so check the race-week forecast before travel and again on race morning.
